McCaskey Girls Wrestling

The McCaskey Girls Wrestling team only brought 10 girls to the Governor Mifflin Tournament. A team full of 1st and 2nd year wrestlers after graduating 13 last year. Well, 8 of these ten ladies placed in the top 6 leading the JPM Lady Wrestlers to a 2nd place finish out of 23 teams. We are all super proud of all the ladies who competed.

Yes, the McCaskey girls wrestling team experienced significant roster changes, losing several key, highly accomplished senior wrestlers from the previous season’s pioneering core group.
The team, which won the Lancaster-Lebanon League team title for two consecutive years, saw the departure of a “powerful group of seniors”:

Journie Rodriguez: A PIAA champion and the first girl in District 3 with 100 career wins, who is now wrestling at Lock Haven University.

Jurelys Peguero del Rosario: A PIAA bronze medalist now wrestling at Ursinus College.
Kaleia Timko: Another standout wrestler who placed at states.

Neveah Ramos: A second-year wrestler who had an impressive senior season.

The team’s current season (2025-2026) has been described as a “next wave” of wrestlers, with only five starters returning from the initial pioneering group. Coach Kevin Franklin has noted the team is young and that this season is focused on growth and developing less experienced junior varsity players from the previous year who are stepping up to fill the void left by the graduated veterans.
