Solanco barely beat Lampeter-Strasburg the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn’t the case this time around. The Golden Mules’ pitcher stepped up to hand the Pioneers a 6-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Mules in their matchups with the Pioneers: they’ve now won seven in a row.

Not much got past Kira Roark, who gave up just three hits to keep Lampeter-Strasburg off the board. Roark has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn’t given up a single earned run any time she’s pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Solanco let Ava Fedoruk and Cailey Landis run wild. Fedoruk went 1-for-4 with one home run, while Landis got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Landis has snagged this season. Ava Martin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Solanco was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they’ve now posted a batting average of .367 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Solanco’s record now sits at 5-2. As for Lampeter-Strasburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Solanco will head out to square off against Manheim Township at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lampeter-Strasburg, they will venture away from home to take on Lebanon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
