Epharta scores 16 runs in one inning

Ephrata came out on top against Lebanon on Monday thanks in part to the team’s impressive 16-run third inning. The Mountaineers put the hurt on the Cedars with a sharp 21-6 win. The Mountaineers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by eight runs or more this season.

Aldynne Snyder was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Piper Rudy, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles.

Ephrata hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team’s really been improving in that area: they’ve now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

The victory snapped Ephrata’s losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-8 record. As for Lebanon, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.
