Cocalico is 1-9 against Manheim Central since April of 2022 but they’ll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Eagles will face off against the Barons at 7:00 p.m. The last four games Cocalico has played have been within two runs, so don’t be surprised if it’s a close one.

Things were looking good for Cocalico after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Eastern Lebanon County by a score of 3-1.

Meanwhile, Manheim Central entered their tilt with Garden Spot on Monday with eight consecutive wins but they’ll enter their next game with nine. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 11-4 victory. The Barons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Chase Book, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Clint Groff, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Manheim Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That’s the best batting average they’ve posted all season.

Cocalico’s loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Manheim Central, their record now sits at 11-3.

Cocalico couldn’t quite finish off Manheim Central when the teams last played two weeks ago and fell 3-1. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We’ll find out soon enough.
