Elco wins first District baseball title

The Elco Raiders have won their first-ever District Three baseball championship by 10-0 score over Wyomissing, in the Class AAAA final.

Starting pitcher Dakota Smith threw a one-hitter.

The baseball program began in Eastern Lebanon County school district in 1962. Current assistant coach Lyle Krall has been a part of every one of those Raider seasons, in one form or another.

Elco (16-7) will open play in the PIAA Class AAAA postseason tournament on Monday at 5:30 p.m., back at Earl Wenger Memorial Field, against District 12 runner-up Science Leadership.
