Seidel makes it to State finals

Click the top photo to see how Northern Lebanon freshman Aaron Seidel left little doubt Friday night that he deserved a spot in the PIAA 2A 106-pound final.

Seidel overwhelmed Burgettstown’s Parker Sentipal 11-0 in his semifinal Friday night at Hershey’s Giant Center to advance to Saturday’s afternoon’s gold-medal match at Hershey’s Giant Center.

Seidel (48-1), who will face returning state champ Louie Gill (42-1) of Hickory in the 106 final, dominated Sentipal from the neutral and positions, scoring three takedowns and a pair of two-point near-falls to go with an escape.

The youngster has made it look easy so far. Seidel scored a 15-0 technical fall in his first bout and pinned Saegertown’s Carter Beck in 1:51 of his Friday morning quarterfinal.

“Yeah, I mean that’s my go-to move,” said Seidel, asked about his single-leg shot.

“I knew I was going to have to hit it and finish clean on it.”

“It’s awesome,” Seidel added. “I’ve dreamed of this since I was a kid, going to the Giant Center and making the finals.”
