Coming into the game both Solanco and Elizabethtown were undefeated with 6-0 records and tied for first place in Section three with 2-0 Section records.

Both teams have high Class 5A, District 3 rankings as well.

But the Solanco Mules never-give-up offense clawed their way for a 35-32 win.

The lead changed 3 times in the second half. And Mules’ QB Brody Mellinger scored on the final TD with under 2 minute to play while trailing 32-28.

The Bears did not go down without a fight. With under a minute to play they moved the ball 70 yards but fell short as the clock ticked down.

The Mules are now 7-0 with a 3-0 Section 3 record.

With Garden Spot losing to Twin Valley, the Mules will probably be the top team ranked in Class 5A District 3 rankings.
