Ephrata won the last time they faced Lebanon and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Mountaineers blew past the Cedars 12-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mountaineers.
Kaliana Auchey and Emma Zimmerman did most of the damage at the plate: Auchey scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3, while Zimmerman scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. What’s more, Auchey posted two doubles, the most she’s had since back in April of 2024. Jordin Rojas was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
They weren’t the only ones working in the hit department: Ephrata kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Ephrata pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Lebanon, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Looking ahead, Ephrata will host Cedar Crest at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they’ve allowed 13.88 runs per game on average), something the Mountaineers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lebanon, they will face off against Tulpehocken at 4:00 p.m. on Frida.
